In 2013, Verwood Town Council in association with the Alzheimer’s Society decided to set up a Dementia Friendly Community Association.

This group is now independent of the Council and has its own constitution.

1 in 14 people over 65 will suffer from dementia at some stage after that age.

There are probably around 400 sufferers in Verwood and Three Legged Cross.

If this is affecting your life, either as a person who has the disease or as a carer, VDFCA can help you.
